    Connected but no internet?

    Hi,

Im new to Ubuntu so excuse me if I ask stupid questions.

I have been trying the latest Ubuntu using its Live CD feature (Which is amazing btw). It seems all of my hardware works ok, however I cant get my wiresless adapter to work correctly.

I have a Belkin wireless G USB adpater. I can get as far as connecting to my network however I cant do anymore. Ubuntu says I am connected however I cant connect to any websites etc. Where it has the network name in the wireless network app in the top right of my screen it has "0%" after it. Is that signel strength?

The adapter works fine with XP and has a decent signel strength.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Using the Live CD feature to make sure it all works before I migrate....

    Thanks,

    Adam

Try install WICD as Network Manager. It seems to be a better choice.

    Check the DNS severs.

those Belkins are usually plug and play, check your security key, make sure you passkey matches the network setting in the router(WPA vs WEP)
The Maximum Effective Range of An Excuse is Zero Meters

    Thanks for your replies.

Is it possible to install this app via the Live CD? (And not distrurb my XP install) At the moment I dont really want to go ahead with a full install of Ubuntu.

Double checked all needed information and its all correct. It connects, but signel is showing 0%.....
