I like the clean look... other than too many documents on the desktop.
I've been porting ClearGlow to the SVN version of the Murrine engine. In fact, considering that I want to keep the current, fully standard-compatible ClearGlow, perhaps I could call this new idea MurrineGlow, dunno. Two of the available colors. I'm using the pink one now:
The new Murrine is probably the best engine that GTK+ ever had. I love those textures and the way colors ended up looking like, and, and, and...

Murrine SVN is great, but there's still at least two bugs that are real show-stoppers. One would be that a ton of options haven't been ported to its clearlooks/nodoka styles and the other thing is that it still doesn't have the nice outlines (that clearlooks and nodoka have) instead of ugly dotted lines. I'm sure once these get fixed there will be no more reason to use anything else, but the developer hasn't released a snapshot in months so I've no idea where development is headed.
Yeah, those dotted lines, you're right! I never liked them. I hope Cimitan gets rid of them soon. The Murrine style with the right gradients does a good impersonation of Clearlooks, though, I think, the Nodoka style doesn't seem to do much more besides a certain liquid look in some selected areas. And that's something the highlight_ratio parameter always allowed to do anyway. Let's hope...
