  1. Re: Turn off Windows 7 permissions for ntfs so drive can be shared

Thanks for your reply, Euroman. You are right about the disallowed characters for MS--I've run into that problem before.

But that's not the issue I'm facing with Windows 7. It's specifically a...
  2. Re: Turn off Windows 7 permissions for ntfs so drive can be shared

OK, thanks, if you think it will be more likely to get a response here.

Surely it's not uncommon for someone who uses Ubuntu to need to share files with a Windows environment, so I can't be the...
  3. Turn off Windows 7 permissions for ntfs so drive can be shared

    Hi all,

I'm posting this to Absolute Beginners even though I've used Ubuntu for a while, because this seems like a noob-ish question.

  6. [SOLVED] Re: Nuked spellcheck dictionary when switching from Open Office to Libre Office in 10

    Solved by simply installing:

    aspell
    aspell-doc
    aspell-en
    dictionaries-common
    hunspell
    hunspell-en-us

Not sure if all of these were necessary, but now it works so I'm happy regardless.
  7. [SOLVED] Re: Nuked spellcheck dictionary when switching from Open Office to Libre Office in 10

    Thanks for the reply, ajgreeny.

I seem to have some libraries installed: libaspell15, libhunspell-1.2-0 and libhunspell-1.3-0. Oops! Could the two versions of libhunspell be a problem?

    I...
