Just gone back to 10.10 (I say pooh to natty) and the error has yet to be recorded.
funny, that, since evrything else works so damn fine with 11.04.
not.
thanks anyways,
Matt
thanks for the link. alas, the proposed workarounds merely reduced the number of error messages (no more flooding), but hasn't made it disappear.
any suggestions?
Cheers,
Matt
Thanks, everything appears to be in order.

Hi all,
I've had a rummage around my syslog and came upon line after line of this:
Jul 6 01:53:14 mzwo-laptop kernel: [ 7328.739676] iwlagn 0000:05:00.0: Received BA when not expected
Jul ...
no other side effects?
ok, this is after i changed the autostart entry from xfwm4 --replace to xfwm4 --display=:0.0 --replace.
seems better to the layman, but there still seem to be certain warnings ...
Cheers,
Matt...
There seems to be quite a bot wrong.
What can I do?
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Setting IM through im-switch for locale=en_US.

Hi all,
as of recently, my system (xubuntu 11.04) takes for ever to boot, slows to crawling speed in irregular intervals and takes an eternity to shut down.
How do I find what's to blame?...
Hi,
Tumbler appears to occasionally use up most of my memory and refuse to give up any of it. killing it helps.
question: is there any way I can get rid of it safely, or do other things depend...
thanks!
Logging on and off makes the borders go away, I'll add it to the autostart list.
Where do I find the log file for xfwm4?
Ta,
Matt
Thanks a bunch, that worked.
I get a number of error messages, though:
mzwo@mzwo-laptop:~$ sudo xfwm4 --replace
[sudo] password for mzwo:
(xfwm4:1876): GLib-CRITICAL **:...
thanks, will try this as soon as i'm back home.
quick question, though: reboots have no effect, neither do the above commands. doesn't this mean xfwm4 is broken and should be reinstalled or any...
hi,
window frames went awol one boot to the next.
tried apt-get install -f and dpkg --configure -a as suggested elsewhere, but no joy.
help is very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt
thanks for the suggestions. alas, none of them had any effect.
but, nevermind, i switched to xubuntu. lots quicker.
thanks,
Matt

Matt

I want my edges back ... :-(
Matt

hi,
thanks, but could you be more specific?
ta,
matt

not only can i not rotate...
PS: just tried changing my DNS-servers as described here - no change.
