Specifically I want to use HIDAPI, much like libusb. With HIDAPI I access HID device to send control transfers. I can do the same thing with libusb but was curios if WINE could do it.
yeah did that, so maybe its just that hidapi will not work with wine then. Interestingly its linux counter part is libusb, but no convert has been done yet I guess. Unless I need to install some type...
I was curios if anyone knows how to allow an exe to access a local dll file using a c# app via "DllImport".
I wrote an app that access hidapi.dll using the [DllImport] with associated c file. the...

"Do not use Debian packages on Ubuntu. While Ubuntu is derived from Debian, the dependencies are different and they won't work."
maybe I need the right configured package...
yea the audit tells me to configure the dolphin app. Configuring them gives my the error above. I could not figure out how to remove the snap version how is that done?
snap remove says its not...
Had to learn about snap, but yeah that got it... Installs ok with deb.

Dolphin just reads from a selected dir for its so called "games". I mount a few network drives to that location that it needs to load. Nothing needs to write to it.
I do see a deb package. I can...
I'm trying to use a application called dolphin, no, not the file browser. I need to configure a location for files it will use. I have my files in the media directory but Dolphin can't access them?...
I learned a great deal guys thx, my problem was stupid, the SMB client just needed to know the workgroup, its not "workgroup"
This is the smb.conf on the server.
[global]
workgroup = renpet
server string = %h server (Samba, Ubuntu)
dns proxy = no
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
log level = 3

So that means the answer to
"2) does the smbclient use my samba server, do the settings effect the smbclient?"
is yes?
""your_user_name" must match a Unix account that appears in the /etc/passwd file." There are a few user names in that file? IS this on the linux samba server, or did you mean on the linux desktop?
I have a home network running ubuntu as a server. My network is set up to use Samba WINS and does so quite well. All of the window boxes and see each other and share wonderfully. I want to get more...
crap I forgot I use ufw now... Not sure there is much different but its just
ufw allow 8788
ufw allow 8781
right? UDP and tcp are both added? Isn't ufw just a fancy iptables?
yeah its appending it for sure, hmmm. Also removed the zero. Maybe its some crap on the target system, ill snif the wire. Thx for the help.
well damn, still not working...
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i enp0s2 -p tcp --dport 8781 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.0.07:8781
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i enp0s2 -p udp --dport 8781...

I'm trying to satisfy this
Forward the ports manually by changing the settings in your router. You need to forward port 8788 for TCP traffic ...
