I had this same problem, and I think I found a way to fix it. Just reduce the font size of all your system fonts. I think you can do this in Customize Look and Feel for lubuntu

that doesn't work, because there isn't an option for analog headphones in sound output. also, now my sound in general has stopped working. i'll reboot and see if that helps with the overall sound.
