  1. Re: [HOWTO] SDL sound (read: ALSA) support for Enemy Territory

Joy to the world for this brilliant piece of software. Absolutely fabulous. On my old hardware setup I was able to play mp3s and play the game at the same time, but somehow my new setup didn't seem...

Re: Automatic Script for Anti-Aliasing aMSN

One thing tho, I've been running this new Amsn now for a while and just for fun I took a look at the System monitor. Amsn took up approx. 500MB memory.

Re: HOWTO: Build Audacious media player from SVN!

Well, you can't really. Only thing to do is start from scratch. Follow the how-to step by step, but when you configure something, it doesn't hurt to check for errors or missing libs when it's done....

Re: HOW TO: install Enemy Territory

Just remove the folders and symlinks. If you installed everything by default that would be:
    /usr/local/games/enemy-territory
    /home/*username*/.etwolf
    /usr/bin/et
    /usr/bin/etded

    (correct me if...

Re: HOWTO: NZB, PAR and UNRAR all-in-one

Take ownership of those folders. Open a terminal and do the following:

    sudo chown -R *your_username*:*your_username* /folderJust enter the top folder (I believe it's called /nzb), the -R option...

Re: HOW TO: install Enemy Territory

So you run the file by doubleclicking it? Try to run it from the terminal, that way you can pick up errors as you go. I'm thinking this might mean your system lacks glib1.2 but we can't know for sure...

Re: HOW TO: install Enemy Territory

Maybe you can force it by creating an autoexec.cfg. Go to your ~/.etwolf folder, create a new empty document, and place the following in it:
    seta r_customwidth "1650"
    seta r_customheight "1080"...

Open up Synaptic and search for GTK. There are 2 versions namely: 1.2 and 2.0. The latter is installed by default being a more recent release. Install libgtk+1.2 as well and then rerun the ET...

Could you tell us what theme and wallpaper those are? And perhaps where to get them? ;) I'm a sucker for dark themes, although I'm looking at a very bright one at the moment. (burn my eyes!!)

    Brilliant :) Thank you!

Edit: should anyone be interested: these fonts can be found in the repos. Look for ttf-xfree86-nonfree or t1-xfree86-nonfree.
