yahoo... this time I got the option to select session during login.
but one problem... when i login to xfce it looks like Windows 200 interface, its not the xubuntu-desktop I belive.

I -re-installed the Ubuntu right from scratch.
and then ran two commands install xfce4 and install goodies. here is the output

and then I think I will be back to the original point

Problem is partially solved.
Now @ the login window I see an option on top-right. to select the session.
and now I can also login to XFCE or Xubuntu session...
but whats not being solved is...

I have already done this in past, but somehow its not working this time.
I installed Ubuntu14.04 LTS on my desktop( Dell Optilex 760), clean install, erased windows 8 and installed this....

I have Xubuntu 13.04 and i want to try out different desktop environments like
- Unity 6.6.0
- GNOME Shell 3.6.2
- GNOME Classic 3.6.2
- KDE Plasma 4.9.90
- Xfce 4.10
- LXDE 0.5.11
yeah i removed and re plugged and went to multimedia->volume control-> output devices.... my USB speaker was recgonized... tweaked all values there n got it working.
Here is performance statistic of Xubuntu 13.04
From Grub it loads in 28 seconds ( while Xubutu 12.10 use to load in 32 seconds, dont remember how was Xubuntu 12.04)
