Hi, just wondering, when I am installing Ubuntu alongside Windows 8, the installer asks me to provide a certain amount of storage space to each OS. My question is, is the left block Windows 8, or is...
Will System76 plan on building netbooks/laptops using AMD's new Fusion processors? Just curious.
Clockspeed doesn't matter as much as it did back in the Pentium 4 Era. I'm pretty sure the U5400 Pentium could handle Farmville easily.
XvBA on Linux is still a major work in progress. Either get an Nvidia card, or even a Intel card if you're going to play video using GPU; though I think the Athlon II is fast enough for CPU decoding...
That Vostro looks like an amazing deal. I can vouch that the U3400 processor, though being a ULV, is very snappy.
No GPU acceleration right?
Too bad I live in Canada.
Don't Sandisk players support .OGG now?
Good luck dude, show those OSX fanboys how it is done.
Chrono Trigger. Final Fantasy 9. Basically, anything from the 90's is a good start. Xenogears as well.
I'd go with an Athlon II 240 or such, plus a AMD mobo. That takes care of CPU, GPU, and Mobo; AMD's IGP's are decent enough to hand basic games.
Why don't you try one of the Netbook Distros, like eeeBuntu/Aurora, or EasyPeasy?
Now the problem will be whether manufacturers will put these chips in decent products. Intel's succeeding Atom (Oak Trail) platform will still hold nothing against Brazos, as it is reported to be...
The video was somewhat horrifying, especially with the music.
I liked S1 the best.
So I'm trying to mount my external hard drive, but I keep getting this error:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:

And does a CS degree necessarily = programming job?
Does programming all day ever get boring?
Congrats.
Just watched the series plus EoE a week ago. Wow. Btw, love your avatar Rjsec.
But then it's not the i945 decoding the video, it's your processor.
Sorry, 720p/1080p .mkv s. And I don't want to use CoreAVC, I'd like to use hardware acceleration.
Wait, your X4500 can play 720/1080p? On Linux? How?
The newer Core 2 Penryn based Celeron's aren't terrible, and there is going to be at an Arrandale based Celeron coming out soon.
