    Alienware M17x R4 - Sound very low

    Hi,

I have an Alienware m17x R4 bought in Januray 2013 and I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 on it. I got my graphics working but I must say it was a pain Anyway, it is not my first experience with linux, I was previously on Fedora which was working perfectly, which means Ubuntu should work perfectly right?

My sound is very very low, it is at highest level everywhere, even in AlasaMixer and nothing, still very low, even on my headphone. By the way, I only have one headphone plug working out of 2. It is fine for me, I never use both but I would like to be able to enjoy music on my Laptop.

    According to AlsaMixer :

    Card: HDA Intel PCH

    Codec : Creative CA0132

    Edit : According to Windows 8 :

Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller
NVIDIA Corporation GK107 HDMI Audio Controller

    Thanks you!

very weird, since I rebooted into Windows, it looks like my Sound has been fixed.

I don't know what are the causes of these odd behaviors, it is just like my USB Mouse, most of the time, I need to unplug/replug my USB mouse because it just scroll too fast
