Wifi instructions please

Hello this is my first time setting up Wifi ever and I've not been able to find any Wifi howtos for Ubuntu.

I've runned

sudo iwlist scan

and it detected a lot of cells on my wlan0 interface, so it seems my hardware is working. So what now? The SSID is supposed to be "CC WLAN".

System -> Preferences -> Network Configuration

if you click on the network ( two monitor) symbol on the top right, you should find a drop down list with available networks.. select your network and it should connect automatically..
