    Mouse wheel

I'm using Xubuntu 8.04 in a Panasonic Toughbook CF28, with an HP ps/2 optical two button wheel mouse. The problem is the mouse wheel doesn't work at all. Everything else about the mouse works OK. I know the problem isn't the mouse, as if it is plugged into a Windows XP machine, the wheel will work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, i cant specify what to write because im on a laptop with a trackpad.. but i KNOW that what you need is to edit the xorg.conf file in order to solve this problem... google around on that and im sure youll find an easy solution! Its like 3 lines to add!

    Re: Mouse wheel

I changed to a Microsoft ps/2 mouse, same problem with the mouse wheel not working. Every change I've attempted hasn't worked I've sense changed the Panasonic cf28 to a dual boot with Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows 2000 Pro. With the touchpad enabled in the bios, the mouse wheel doesn't work in either operating system. If the touchpad is disabled in the bios, the mouse wheel works in Windows, but not in Ubuntu.

    Any help would be appreciated.
