    Screen Flickers when play videos

Hello. I hoping someone can help me with this. When ever I play a video in window or full screen mode the video will flicker nonstop. It's not my hole computer screen just the video itself unless it in full screen mode. It started doing this when I upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10.
    OS: Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit
    Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45
    CPU : Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM: G.Skill DDR2 3 GB
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi)Superclocked

Same here, I just installed 8.10 yesterday. I changed the video output to X (from the media player) but then the video has a really low fps rate in full screen. Any ideas on that?

I did that. Rendering in full screen is horrible.

Unless there are restricted or proprietary, drivers available that your not using, then pretty much the same deal, see here (turn off compiz (desktop effects))

Thumbs down Re: Screen Flickers when play videos

That worked. Thanks. My fairly old Dell wasn't too keen on those effects anyway
