    Netflix Player

    Check these links out:

So there is a small linux device that Netflix is selling to download and play the movies.. SO obviously there is support for Linux for the Watch Now option, but the question is, is this some private code that is used that a normal desktop linux user doesnt have access too? I wonder why netflix doesnt just release this for desktop users? Anyone know?

Linux.com has links for the source code, can't believe no one has a working player yet...

Yeah, if someone can hack or extrapolate that so I can just watch Netflix without having to scare the wife with code... I will give them an undisclosed sum of money.

    Re: Netflix Player

Apparently Netflix is going to allow M$ Silverlight to work on their site instead of using WM11 and all that junk. The advantage is that Moonlight is already available, which is the Linux version of Silverlight.

Silverlight 2.0 is due out soon, not to long after that Moonlight 2.0 should be available, hopefully.

    Story is here: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/10...rt-mac-linux/1
    Installation Walkthrough here: http://www.deepakg.com/blog/2007/10/...on-ubuntu-704/

I was going to install moonlight but after looking at the instructions, I believe myself to not be fluent enough in Linux to install it. Hopefully, someone will and let us newbs know how it goes.
