Banshee & 2G Ipod Touch

How can I get Banshee to detect my Ipod Touch?
I used to use a iRiver MP3 player, and it was fine. I like the look and feel of Banshee and how it links to last.fm. Which is why I use it. Ubuntu detects my Ipod Touch (well sees that it is an Ipod but I can't view the files...) but Banshee does not. Any ideas? Also I am using Ubuntu 8.10 now.

If it's a new Ipod Touch, they do not work with Linux, as the hashing hasn't been broken yet. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Po...Devices/iPhone

Firmware 2.0 and 2.0.1 will not sync
In firmware versions 2.0 and above, Apple has changed the hashing algorithm used on the iTunesDB file. This hashing is yet to be broken. Until it is, syncing music for these firmware versions remains impossible. The guide above can still be used to mount the device, and to transfer files for jailbreak apps or for transfer between machines. A libgpod bug report is active here, and a project to reverse engineer the hash is located here, though it is unclear whether this project is active

Very much so, yes. I've seen a number of threads about people fragging their files up because of the Touch.

I have Ubuntu 10.04, the really new one like an idiot, and it recognises my ipod touch as a music device, but banshee still wont. How do I correct this problem, or is it just the way it is?

Wow, this thread was a while ago. A lot has changed.
I no longer use Banshee usually, I use the built in Rhythmbox now.
Banshee is still great. I have no tried to connect my iPod Touch to my PC for a while as I don't use it anymore but I should take a look. So, sorry, I can't help you yet.

iPhone and iPod Touch don't work with Banshee for the time being.
