Hey guys/gals, just saw this article. Linux wins, we get the x64 flash goodness first.

This is indeed good news, now the only thing to watch out is for a complete proper removal of the installed Flash as well as getlibs which won't be needed anymore unless one plans to run x32 apps.

Cool. I don't use 64-bit but I'm sure it will help others who do.

I removed the x32 plugin via synaptic and just did a sudo cp libflashplayer.so .usr/lib/mozilla/plugin and it works fine, both FF and Opera picked it up without any issues and youtube runs fine on both browsers. Many thanks to BobCFC for posting the good news. Now its all x64. Hopefully I can remove getlibs as well as its no loger needed.

Works great on Youtube and iPlayer for me. Just uninstall flashplugin-nonfree from Synaptic first

instructions from the 64bit release notes:

    1. Download the plugin to begin installation. A dialog box will appear asking you where to save the file.
    2. Save the .tar.gz file to your desktop and wait for the file to download completely.
    3. Quit your browser.
    4. Remove all existing Adobe Flash Player installations from the system.
    5. Unpackage the file. A directory with contains libflashplayer.so will be created.
    6. Copy libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins. Create the 'plugins' folder if it does not exist yet.
    7. Launch your brower. To verify installation in Firefox choose Help > About Plug-ins from the browser menu.
