    Evolution Mail

I am unable so far to configurt Evolution to receive mail.

And what about disk defrag or system restore with Linux?

You should configure it as any other email client - you must follow instructions for your specific mail provider.

What do you mean by system restore? If you use ext3 (Ubuntu default) as filesystem then you can't defragment it.

Disk defragmentation is not required with Ubuntu ext3 file system. Every once in a while, when you start your system, it automatically do a routine disk check, which only takes a couple minutes, so I would recommend that you let it run.
