[SOLVED] no window decorations in compiz after upgrading to Ibex

I found http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=742181 but it's in the archives so can't post there.

    Code:
    # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
    # nvidia-settings: version 1.0 (buildd@palmer) Mon Nov 3 08:46:46 UTC 2008

    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # Note that some configuration settings that could be done previously
    # in this file, now are automatically configured by the server and settings
    # here are ignored.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

My window decoration plugin in compiz was set to gtk-window-decorator. I've played with that setting some, but I've gotten nothing to work thus far. Help is appreciated!

Maybe you could try compiz instead of GTK. Or Emerald, if you have it installed.

I do have emerald installed, but

    Code:
    emerald --replace
doesn't seem to do anything. Doing

    Code:
    compiz --replace
is what makes the window decoration disappear.

    Code:

    compiz --replace

is what makes the window decoration disappear.
You can fix that by enabling the Window Decoration in CompizConfig Manager.

You didn't read my first post very carefully:

My window decoration plugin in compiz was set to gtk-window-decorator.
Now, it could very well be that I need to change a setting in that plugin. right now it is set to emerald --replace. Thanks for the continued help!
