Random Disconnects on Intel 2915ABG Wireless

I upgraded my Thinkpad T43 with the Intel 2915ABG wireless card to 8.10 last night, and now the network connection is unstable. It will generally disconnect at least once every 10 minutes. Sometimes it reconnects without issue, sometimes it asks to confirm my WPA2 password. I found this on Launchpad, but do not have a /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200 file to try editing. Any ideas on how I can try to fix this problem?

    Having similar problems here.

I posted this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=975684 but got no replies. I also saw the bug report you mentioned which states that the problem is solved when it is clearly not!

I also have a 2915ABG and I can't connect to a WEP or WPA network at all.
I can't understand why this is not a bigger issue.

I have heard that it is working for people who did a clean install of 8.10 but I can't confirm this.

    Hope someone notices this!

I get the same results running the Live CD as I do with my upgraded install, I suppose I could try a fresh install of 8.10 if I am reistalling anyway, but as it does not work properly on the Live CD I doubt it will as an install either.

So far the only benefit I have seen to 8.10 is better Flash compatibility on ClubRSX.com, so I'll give this a few months. Anyone know how to install 8.10 to a flash drive so I can keep an install to test without having to repartition the hard drive?

    BUMP
Exactly the same issue here ..

I get randomly disconnected, afterwards I can see my network in the network manager, but i shows no wireless signal .. just the name.. wierd. Only way to fix it was to completely reboot my computer, it would work for inconsistent amounts of time and disconnect again.

Back to wired ethernet for me. (Somehow it's slower then my wireless)
