using terminal to open and process files

    hi,

i am running this image processing program called ENVI in ubuntu, and i have to process some ENVI image files (whereby each image file comes with a hdr file) using the terminal. can anyone pls tell me how i can do that? as of now i am not even sure how i can open these files using terminal. when i check the file types of image files, some are unknown file type, some are plain text documents.

You may have more luck getting your question answered here:

    I also found this:

    www.safe.com/reader_writerPDF/envihdr.pdf

That may be of some help.
