Most Linux users are geeks, which you won't detache from the computer even when using a crow bar. But still some linux user made this: http://lightbird.net/pbreminder/

    I have one, it's called a wife .

But seriously, you could set up a cron job to execute every so often. It could launch a terminal emulator with an echo message to go outside. Or if you know how to program, you can have the job do anything you like.

Sorry, no idea what you mean.
    I've tried irish@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install pbreminder
    but get
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

Sorry, I kind of misunderstood, and the other suggestions were much better.

    Re: take a break

In System -> Preferences -> Keyboard, there is a tab called Typing Break. If you enable it, it will lock the screen for a set amount of time at set intervals.

    Hope that helps!
