My Media buttons have stopped working after....

I was messing with my bluetooth settings as I was trying to get my BT headset working with Skype. Well, I managed to get that working pretty well, but now my Media button on my Laptop have stopped working.

The Volume up/down and Mute visually display properly when pressing the media button, but the actual volume doesn't change.

I tried the keyboard shortcuts menu. That doesn't change anything as the button do register, but no action takes place.

I tried removing my .asoundrc and .asoundrc config file as the wiki says it's not needed to play sounds. Still no difference.

One thing I did do during the BT headset set up was do this

    "asoundconf set-default-card Headset"

What can I do to undo this? I suspect this may have something to do with my problems with sound controls.

No ideas? I reinstalled ALSA, set my default soundcard to Intel, tried to set up the keyboard shortcuts. Still nothing. I get sound just fine, but the media keys still no longer work.
