Compaq F700 Wireless issue

I had wireless working in 8.04 but now after the upgrade it no longer works, the fix involved compiling madwifi drivers and putting them into the kernel.. i wrote a script to automate this process for the end user. after every kernel upgrade. however the drivers no longer seem to work.
