Error during upgrade: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE

I'm partway through the upgrade process, upgrading Ubuntu 8.04-64bit to the new 8.10.

With just 8 minutes remaining during the "Installing the upgrades" portion, the following dialog windows appeared:

An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for Nautilus. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.
Adding client to server's list failed, CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0

I also got a similar issue upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10 but upgrade has continued so far...
