    The fix worked perfectly for me last night with VLC. I still have a bit of a memory lag, so I'm thinking I'm still going to have to add the restricted ati drivers.

    Apparently this is a known bug with x11. You can do a search for BadAlloc and you'll get hundreds of posts.

    At the moment your output in the player is X11?

    Have you added the restricted drivers for your video card?

    If you've done both of those, I think I saw something you could do with x... I'll do a bit more research on it if no one beats me to it
