Ubuntu machine is not able to see the shares of windows machine

Hi all,

I have a problem which already cost me weekend figuring it out. I try to share an ubuntu 8.04 desktop with my windows (samba). So far so good. My windows machine is able to see my shares on the Ubuntu machine.

BUT the Ubuntu machine is not able to see the shares, not even the public folders on the Vista machine. Ping works, so no firewall problems.It lists the all windows machine but shows blank .

Ping would still work if you had file and printer sharing disabled in vista.
