    Exclamation Network problems in 8.10

I'm having trouble with wireless networking since the upgrade to 8.10. In 8.04 it was working fine. The problem I'm having is that it reads all the networks and when I try to connect to the network I want even though I got all the network information right its not connecting. Then when I use manual instead of DHCP I start connecting but no internet. All that works is hardwiring it to my repeater and I need that for my mac. And I don't need drivers for the built in network card since I didn't for 8.04.

I know I'm not the only one having this problem. This is obviously the operating system that is doing this. By the way I can't even connect to a network that has no security! Please help me.

There are several bugs reported for connection issues in ibex.
You can view the list here. There are previous beta reports as well as final release bugs there.

Have you looked at System > Admin > Hardware drivers?
Good site to search for guides & how-tos.

I'm having that problem too. I'm using an old Dell laptop with a Microsoft MN-520 wireless card. It worked perfectly with 8.04. Now it sees the network but can never connect.

I guess all we can do is wait for it to be fixed. Most of them say it only doesn't work with WPA type networks. For me it doesn't work with anything. They need to get this fixed soon.

Unhappy Re: Network problems in 8.10 [CLOSED]

I'm closing this thread for now. Since everybody seems to have this problem, and nobody knows how to fix it.
