I have a usb wireless adapter that was working fine under 8.04, i have the drivers working under ndiswrapper, but it refuses to connect to the internet. I have a feeling this had to do with my upgrade, which went very badly. there is no network manager icon in the top right panel, where its always been before. when i go to places > network, it shows "Windows Network" but when i click on it, it acts like i just went into a folder and theres nothing inside it. i have no idea if this is related or not, but it might be and it worries me: when i start up ubuntu, in the very beginning where it shows a black screen with the ubuntu logo and an orange progress bar, it loads to a little less than halfway, then it stops. I press crtl+alt+del, and it jumps to about 3/4 of the way filled an finishes loading very quickly and everything else seems to be fine.
