slow update season?

a bout 6 months ago when i first installed hoary (and loved it BTW) i remember getting updates with the update manager almost every other day...i have been running breezy for like a month now and had to update maybe 2 or 3 times

my question is

is this a slow update season or are the developers trying to move for less frequent-larger updates?

Imo there are just less bugs and security holes now. Thats all
