Re: Let's copy Windows 7's UI!

I think we can do better that the windows 7 UI .. remember how compiz murdered Areo. personally am not impressed with what i have seen or heard about windows 7. i mean vista was suppose to be the best thing since slice bread but look how that turned out. the last thing MS need is not another white elephant project that would be a drain on hardware. not now when netbooks play is big role in computing. for windows 7. keep it light.simple and allow for customization. and for Christ sake remove that god damn UAC. Windows 7 needs to do better than vista (which asks more question than it can solve) in term of user experience.

    Personally, I think it's awful.
It did remind me of KDE as well.

I'm not a fan of windows Vista/7 theme. First thing I'm doing anyway is setting Windows at "Performance" settings.

About 7, the only cool thing I heard from now that should be implemented in Linux is that new feature : When you minimize your app, if there's no task running, it takes almost no ressources (I mean nothing at all). So it will become a lot more responsive.

Anyway, about 7's theme, it's a personnal choice, but not for me ;- p.

I don't doubt the Compiz devs wipe up some of this plugins (just a little better) in no time. Or maybe it can only be implented in KDEs plasma.. I'm not sure.

The netbook remix interface already does the icon stuff.

Seems MS is slowly heading towards getting a dock... They will begin with this on windows 7 then on 8 it would be exactly the dock... only they will call it IntuitiveTaskbar (r) ...

    I does look like kde.

It doesn't look bad, it looks pretty good.

I still take a nicely themed gnome with compiz fusion over that any day.
