    USE THIS TO INSTALL LAMP ON UBUNTU

    sudo apt-get install apache2 mysql-server mysql-client php5 php5-mysql


    ALL DONE

    SAVED MY LIFE

    Why does your server have wireless? And why not install the Ubuntu server edition as it IS for servers. Yes, no GUI, but Ubuntu offers a kicka$$ server guide with step by step directions. I have been hosting my own sites in my basement for over a year now with the help of dyndns. Uptime? Well, I had to restart maybe 4 times. The power going out was responsible for 3 of the 4. Once I had to restart after a coppermine installation went resource hungry (reboot, works like a charm now.)

    Ubuntu desktop is great, but it is not streamlined for server usage.
