    I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful guide. I'm an Ubuntu newbie, so guides like this are a wonderful resource.

    I'm getting the same segmentation error. On my previous laptop ZD7000, I installed everything fine and was using the hardware acceleration (see snapshot in previous post). Now with my current laptop Compaq R3000, I can only use the software acceleration to get it going. Both laptops have Nvidia based graphics boards and I used the drivers off of the AutoMatrix utility. So I'm puzzled. Do you think it has to do with the fact that my R3000 is a AMD64 (running 32bit Ubuntu with K7 kernel) versus the P4 3.02ghz HT (running 32bit Ubuntu with i686-smp kernel)?

    This is an AWESOME guide! Thanks!

    I've just got one little problem however! I need to install the CDRMOOBY plugin but I don't know how to!

    I tried copying it to the ePSXe plugins folder, but somethings gone wrong and now ePSXe wont start. I get this error message:

    Code:
    plugins/libcdrmooby-2.8.so: undefined symbol: XftDrawSetCli
    How should I go about installing this plugin?

    How can I get sound working? I get this message:

    * Init spu[0][libspuPeopsOSS.so.1.0.9]
    Sound device not available!
    * Open spu[0]

    Also, how can I get a joypad working with this?

    Ok, I got my joypad problem solved (copied the config and plugin files from the padjoy package available on synaptic), and sound only seems to work when I don't have another program that uses audio open. Similar to my problem in Firefox.

    Anyone know why it might be slow at resolutions higher than 640x480? My computer is very good.
