I like to ask in advance if it is OK to start a thread asking people how they are dealing with the financial crisis. Would this be appropriate or would it be considered political?

Depends how you word it

I know its a serious issue that is affecting us all in some way , and some folks are quite worried, more so by the bored press over hyping it.

But if you word it where you are asking about personal experiences and ideas to keep one safe from its affects etc it would be OK
