Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition is basically the same thing as Ubuntu Server 8.04 Edition. The desktop edition has desktop programs like GNOME and the server edition has server programs like Apache. ALL of these programs are available in Ubuntu's repositories from both editions.
Current distro: Kubuntu 11.04 + KXStudio

Ofcourse it can. The question and the poll make no sense because there's no doubt that it can. Look at Ubuntu Server Edition.

The poll is just as nonsensical as a poll asking "Is my forum name etdsbastar?".

And if you have a question, you can just ask a question, you do not need to make a poll out of it.

No, dear, this poll and the question is very important since LTS Edition needs specific configuration to be worked/melted as a Server Edition.

    What do you say?

If it says Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition, then what exactly do you think that means?

For me it sounds like you have never used a server.
Maybe you might want to elaborate your Q.

ok. I have more question below that I want you answer.

What is etdsbastar an anagram of? Sounds quite applicable?

Can you make a post that describes your question in detail? I've seen a lot of your posts and I know the answer already.

You can call me dear if you like as long as you answer me this: do you troll here often?

im halfway through implementing a server at work. the xen hypervisors are ubuntu 8.04 64bit, although the web server virtual machines will be fedora. this is only as a compromise between me and my boss though, not because i think fedora is better as a web server

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if you can install a LAMP on it, it is a server and can't you get a Lamp on 64bit HH?

yea but my boss and one of the developers is more familiar with fedora. fedora's quite nice anyway. hardy is just for the hypervisor. nothing is really gonna be running on it except heartbeat, drbd and xen. obviously, these three things make it inherently cooler than a fedora lamp server by far anyway
