    New to Ubuntu

I am new to the whole Ubuntu....

I am trying to figure everything out by trial and error, I am only coming up with one thing that I cant seem to figure out. I used to be able to attach a monitor to my laptop to run my windows, but I cant figure out how to make ubuntu see my monitor..

    Any Help

What kind of laptop / graphics card do you have?

Have you tried Administration -> Screen resolution in the system menu.

What about the FN + F5 key to switch the display option on the motherboard.

If that doesn't work then there is a utility to handle external VGA ports here:

    This is a user guide.
