That should be default behaviour of an Ubuntu installation. There's also Brasero Disc Burning installed on your system (Applications -> Sound&Video -> Brasero) where you can just drag .iso file to the disc-area and the system will ask you to write the iso file or burn a disc starting from the .iso-image...

just make sure you burn it as IMAGE file. Most burn programs have special settings for that.
