Thanks for the suggestion, but unmounting doesn't help. When I mount again, I get the same error.
I'm struggling to understand the error, as this is the first time I've set up RAID on Ubuntu, and also the first time I've used TrueCrypt on Ubuntu.
So far, my research has turned up the following information:
On the latter point,
Code:
sudo truecrypt -d
sudo fsck /dev/md0
gives the following:
Code:
fsck 1.40.8 (13-Mar-2008)
e2fsck 1.40.8 (13-Mar-2008)
fsck.ext2: Superblock invalid, trying backup blocks...
fsck.ext2: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/md0
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2
filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock
is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
which I *think* is correct (because I don't recall creating an ext2 filesystem on /ext/md0), and
Code:
sudo mdadm --stop /dev/md0
works fine, as does
Code:
sudo mdadm --assemble --scan
.
gives:
Code:
Personalities : [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] [raid10]
md0 : active raid5 sda[0] sdd[3] sdc[2] sdb[1]
1465159488 blocks level 5, 64k chunk, algorithm 2 [4/4] [UUUU]
unused devices: <none>
which I think is OK too.
I don't have any entries for /dev/md0 or for /mnt/sataraid5 in my /etc/fstab, which if I'm not mistaken is also unproblematic.
The only command I've tried (other than the one this thread is about) that gives me cause for concern is
which gives (I've abbreviated the output):
Code:
Disk /dev/sda doesn't contain a valid partition table
Disk /dev/sdb doesn't contain a valid partition table
Disk /dev/sdc doesn't contain a valid partition table
Disk /dev/sdd doesn't contain a valid partition table
Disk /dev/md0 doesn't contain a valid partition table
.
I don't know if that's as it should be, given the set-up I outlined above.
In summary, I've done a fair bit of homework since my last post, but I'm still not much closer to solving the 'Unrecognized mount option "uid=1000" or missing value' problem.
All help greatly apprectiated,
Spk
