Question Make Changes to the Workspace

Is there a way that I can make a permanent change to a workspace?

Such as workspace #1 has a different background from workspace #2 and workspace #2 has different things on the desktop then workspace #1.

    No.
I switched to Windows because of all the disappointment Linux brought me.

Re: Make Changes to the Workspace

I've seen some posts where people had managed to have different wallpaper/background on the gnome desktop using compiz settings,

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=474894

but they had to disable nautilus from drawing the desktop, which means no desktop icons are visible.
There are no dumb questions, just dumb answers.
