when opening a mp3, audio file... sometimes my pc crack, stop responding

Why my computer stop completely responding to commands sometimes when I click on a mp3 etc. file. Dont know why, though.

Anyone knows what it's all about? Will it be corrected after .10 release?

Have you followed the instructions for installing the proper codecs? Check here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766683
Also, you might try using a different media player. VLC and MPlayer are my favorites.

to installing VLC I must use the synaptic (?) sort of thing?

Run the following in a terminal (Applications>Accessories>Terminal):

sudo apt-get install vlc

I am installing VLC and my terminal stopped here:
