Amarok + iPod Palylists

Hello,

Has anybody managed to create a playlist in amarok and then successfully transfer it to their iPod and play it?

Surely this is possible?

Here is where I am with it:

I am using Kubuntu 7.04 and Amarok 1.4.7 + 30Gb iPod Video

I can create a playlist in amarok and add songs to it
I can transfer the new playlist to my iPod
I can see the new playlist in the device viewer within amarok
I can play the playlist from the device viewer in amarok

But frustratingly I cannot see the new playlist on my iPod!

Also, I created a playlist using my ipod. When I plugged my ipod into my laptop I could see the newly created playlist. I renamed this playlist using amarok and disconnected my ipod.......checked my ipod and the playlist which was once there had disappeared!

Is there actually an alternative to iTunes for Linux? I read posts saying there are, but in reality is there really???
