so, i installed my new nvidia card and all was well until i discovered that some of compiz's features were acting sluggish.

desktop cube was working perfectly... ran smoothly (very satisfied)
however, my widget layer takes forever to appear! and within that time frame, it uses up a huge chunk of CPU resources and the computer "freezes" during that time until the widgets appear.
(i've grown to love my widgets... can't live without them now... i even have my Desktop itself set as a widget D= )

i simply can't wait for my widget layer to take 30 seconds to load each time.. This worked well on my intel chipset, there's no way this card can be worse. There must be something i can do.

other things, some of the gnome screensavers become sluggish also, i don't know if it has anything to do with the nvidia card, though.
What can i do to fix this?

i actually made this same post Desktop effects and Customizations but i didn't get any responses. I think i posted in the wrong forum anyway, but i don't know how to delete a thread.
