apt-get purge ~> power goes out (conspiracy? ;o)

So last night I was playing with terminal, installing new packages. I then proceeded to clean-up..
    > sudo apt-get autoclean
    > sudo apt-get update
    > sudo apt-get purge ...
    > Not more than a SPLIT-SECOND later -> Blackout! Back to the caveman age.
I think it was an external being preventing me from a mistake... ;P
    Thoughts?

    Code:
    sudo apt-get -f
i assume you had a chance to confirm on purge and it got to the uninstall stage
