    mouses

    hi,

I have a logitech mouse that keeps (sometimes) double clicking for me, when I only want to single click. I figured it could be a hardware problem, so I open it, expecting to find a simple problem to resolve, with no luck.

So I took another mouse, a small Targus mouse, but this one is extra sensible, so I had to tweak the mouse preferences, but now this leads to another problem, that my mousepad (its a laptop) is very low in sensitivity.

So the question is, can there be one set of preferences for the usb mouse and another for the mousepad? Also, if anyone knows if the double click thing is software or hardware, and a solution?

The double clicking thing could be hardware or software.

Software: Go to System>Preferences>Mouse and change "Double Click Timeout". (My mouse is set at 400 ms)

If its hardware, see if the mouse button is stuck. My mouse will also occasionally double click for me. I think its hardware, because if it were software, then the double-clicking would be on all the time.
