    MenuetOS

I wonder how many people have heard of it!?

I've been following its development for a while now and only just now thought about posting it here so others could have a look. It's quite cute and barely functional so it's no real threat to any of the major OSs yet but who knows... It is actively developed and, even though it is entirely coded in assembly, it is improving rapidly.

    Thoughts?

Icons are horrible, what is it based on GTK+ odr KDE?

Ok it sucks licencse wise: The 64-bit main distribution is now proprietary. Several distributions of the 32-bit GPL MenuetOS still exist, including translations in Russian, Chinese, Czech, and Serbian.

It doesn't use a standard Linux window manager... It has its own custom one.

Bare in mind this is just a cute hobby OS for now (although functionally it is quite impressive).

Ya the advantage of Menuet is that it has the ability to boot on a 1.44 mb floppy disc which is nice. Kolibri is also 1.44 mb and it seems to be quicker.

I tried Menuet in Qemu, the GUI is not standard I mean there is no x button on windows and it crashes on my computer after the first ten seconds. Besides that it is in part proprietary.

Anyways having tried Kolibri here is what I think of Kolibri:
Kolibri boots quicker then any other operating system that has a decent amount of features so that is nice. Kolibri has some interesting features:

    - Icons on the Desktop are just processes that receive user input.
    - You only need to double like a Desktop icon to run it. You need to double click in Ubuntu.

I think Kolibri needs a lot of improvements. The calculator sucks for one the terminal doesn't resize correctly and there is other problems.
