banned from#Ubuntu by tritium - moderator abuse?

My apologies for starting this thread here - I searched but could not find anywhere else appropriate to post it. I joined the irc channel #Ubuntu and was banned by tritium for apparently making false accusations about him................I have looked through the interaction and can only assume he abused his moderating powers, either that or there really is some rule I heinously transgressed without realising it - I know ignorance is no defence but I do not in this instance think I was rude in anyway to justify a ban or even a wrist slapping for that matter. Either way I would appreciate someone nudging me in the right direction to get myself unbanned and/or a rational explanation as to why I should have been banned in the first place. tritium appears to be a bit trigger happy from my POV and rather than helping in the vaunted Ubuntu spirit simply appears to have chosen to get rid of someone who did not agree with him. I really would like some help here, and I am not trying to start some sort of war - I think tritium is misguided and ill educated as to a moderators role but I would just much rather have access to the irc channels so I can get some help rather than be in the situation I am now in. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for this. I was under the impression that the official Ubuntu irc channel would be something to do with the Ubuntu Forums, my mistake. I shall try and find the Ubuntu Community Council and see if there is some mechanism for redress there. I appreciate the time you took to reply and the information.

As a follow up for anyone who stumbles on this - I found #ubuntu-ops on irc - the peeps there were very helpful and reasonable and sorted my situation out in two shakes as it were, so there is a forum for redress when a mod is less than helpful as occurred in this case. Interestingly I had actually committed a common courtesy crime, I just did not realise it until I was educated as to how. It's a shame any mod is so trigger happy in the first place as to ban somone without first giving some help as to correct use of a forum. Them's the breaks I guess. Thank you for reading. My faith in the Ubuntu ethos is now restored as it were.

I confess I do not use IRC I hate it with a passion normally reserved for Brussell Sprouts and Broccolli
