    Hi,

Do you mean to say that you want to have msn, yahoo messenger on your box? If its messenger you can choose pidgin messenger in internet option in ubuntu main menu. You can configure more than one account in one pidgin messenger and can chat. If you are looking for other kinda stuff, be more detail or precise.

    You can also try Gaim.
You can add accounts for MSN, Yahoo, AIM and more.

Or if you mean a program simular to MSN Messenger
you can try emesene or aMSN.

I think Gaim is still the best when it comes to Yahoo.

I think Pidgin comes with Ubuntu, it did with mine, it's pretty easy to set up too, however if you have long friends lists it can get cluttered. I was using Pidgin for XP before I made the switch over and I like the program. I have it set up for AIM, MSN and Yahoo. When you open up Pidgin for the first time it'll prompt you to set up an account, there is a drop down with all of the supported IMs, you pick the IM you want, enter the password, and then save and it's good to go. Once you have that first one set up you have to click on one of the drop downs, I think there is one called accounts, and add the other IM services that you use.

msn or yahoo as a (windows) program, you wont be able to run (yeah yeah, I know about wine. I just refuse to mention it as there are alternatives present)

Run the services offered by msn/yahoo (messaging), you could use the linux alternative programs that allow you to connect to these services. Ubuntu comes with Pidgin preinstalled, so that would be the most logic first thing to try.
