Try Kaffeine? Haven't done it myself, but http://www.linux.com/feature/127800 talks about it.
ASUS M2A-MVP, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+, 3 Gb DDR2 800Mhz, GeForce 8600GT XXX Edition, Ubuntu 8.10
I don't use it, but Miro seems like it might be somewhat similar to Zattoo...

i dont have a tv card of any sort so am looking for something that can stream live tv channels.
stuff like the bbc and other free channels in teh UK aswell as some Hong Kong channels.
Go to www.scumbox.com
There are all kind of streams there (direct and P2P), so some of the channels won't work unless you add the ActiveX applets to your firefox temp folder, but most of the channels will work fine at once.
There are channels like Disney Cinemagic, FOX sports and SKY sports, euro sport, cnn, bbc world, discovery and more. Offcourse it's free!
PC is easy, fun and friendly when you use Ubuntu
Tell your friends
For p2p tv you can use gsopcast.
thanks for all the helpand suggestions.
managed to get zattoo working on my 64bit laptop now.
followed the guide in: http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums....d.php?t=618368
all i now gotta figure out is to get channels from Hong Kong.
