Is there a way to control the mouse movement and clicks by using the keyboard (to do the opposite from the on-screen keyboard) under gnome?

Solved partially: System->Settings->Assistive Technologies; then Keyboard Accessibility, under "Mouse Buttons" (or so). However, the configurability of this is less than minimal.
I'd love to know it if there's some better solution.
P.S.: And clicks are buggy..........

Tried it and got lost while reading the manual. It's too complicated. I was just thinking of something that would let me chose which keyboard keys do what because the Keyboard Accesibility can only use numpad which is impractial on a laptop.
My problem got pretty much solved in the meantime anyway (I'm using an usb mouse now , yes I was fighting with my touchpad because it gets very hot from times to times being right above the hdd (I think)).
But thanks anyway.
Cheers.

The flaw in Ubuntu, is you cannot get to preferences with only a keyboard to enable mouse movement.

If you are using Gnome then pressing SHIFT+NUM lock will enable mouse keys..
