    Samsung Q210

I recently bought a Samsumg Q210, but Ethernet and WiFi doesn't work. I'm using 8.04.

On Vista, aida32 reveals the following:

    Bus 32, Apparaat 1, Functie 1 Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 [NoDB]
    Bus 32, Apparaat 1, Functie 1 Marvell Yukon 88E8055 PCI-E

I can't find linux drivers for either. Any help?

Okay, so that fixes the WiFi problem, but I still don't have a regular ethernet connection. Google's not really helping..

If possible I would like to avoid moving away from Hardy. I like to keep the laptop's install as close as possible to my desktop.

Is there a way I can get my hands on (just) the driver in Intrepid?

I'm thinking about buying one of these to use as my main machine. As I'm pretty much linux-only these days - I'd appreciate any impressions re. running ubuntu.

Did you sort out your initial difficulties? Do you like the machine?

    Cheers

I updated to Inrepid. Everything works fine. Yeah, I like the thing a lot. Only downside is that it gets dirty very, very quickly.

    Thanks for the information.

I noticed that there are two different versions - the Q210-AS02 (2.26 GHz / P8400) and the Q210-FSS0 (2.00 GHz / T5750). Other than different processors, the main other difference is £90. Do you have any opinion on whether the Q210-AS02 worth the extra cash?

I too am looking at one of these. Has anyone refused the Windows licence and what was the result?
