Not a bit, What Nvidia driver are you using?

FIC K8-800T AMD64 3200+ 2GB PC3200 GeForce 6800GT Mandriva 2010 KDE+Compiz+Emerald
MSI K9N2GM AMD 9950BE 4GB DDR2-800 GeForce 8200 10.10 WUSB600N
Acer 6920 Core 2 Duo 4GB GeForce 9500GS 10.04 Ubuntu User #17586
Hmm, that is strange. I'm using the default one - 185.18.36, will try 190.xx later.
Have you changed any settings in the nvidia control panel or the compiz one?
Ok, so the flash/click issue is all over launchpad, e.g https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/410407 (there is a temporally fix at comment #143)
For the compiz tearing (actually it is not 'that' bad, it's more like - 'the animations are sometimes slow and jerky') i use the ugly fix for powemizer, forcing it in high performance mode. That way everything is smoooth
Haven't tried 190.xx though.
Ive just installed 9.10 on the Acer Aspire 6920G.
WORKS OUT OF THE BOX:
- Graphics
- Sound + internal Mic (you have to set it on mic 2 not 1 to get it to work)
- Wlan + LAN
- Bluetooth Sending - Receiving didnt but i think it was the phones fault.
- 2 other buttons between bluetooth and wlan only one works because the second tries to open emailclient but dont have any emailclients on it.
- cinedash
- USB
- Internal webcam
DID NOT WORK:
- SDCard Reader
- FingerPrint Reader
DID NOT TEST:
- Infra Remote Control
- Express Card
- DVB (although hardware drivers for proprietary drivers did gave me a driver to install)
I dont know if somebody managed to get to last 5 things to work if so could you please reply about how you managed to get it to work.

The SD card works if you boot up with a SD card inserted, i assume this is a driver that is loaded when it detects the hardware (when the sd card is inserted)
fingerprint reader: not sure what is up with this, there really are no programs in the ubuntu software repository to use this device, though some do exist, anyone set this up?
By default infra remote should be supported with new Koala release.
Express card has always worked
DVB should be functional out of the box (not as good as windows but close)
When you first dont succeed, google- google again
Notice:
When playing around with another distro, Sabayan, i noticed that the graphics card worked ALOT nicer! including games such as nexus and open arena, it worked very well whilst in ubuntu the graphics did not even load correctly (ie, floors and walls, characters didnt render well or render at all) im taken to believe ubuntu isn't using the best driver suitable for our graphics cards!
i found this:
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/download.html
though im not quite sure where to start...
[EDIT] Turns out Ubuntu has the same drivers, its just that you have to configure game settings to get good quality gameplay, its nothing to do with the drivers. You have to go into the game of your choice and go into video and tinker with the settings until you have it good.

For video tearing: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...nvidia+tearing
except in the third step change nvidia-settings --load-config-only to
nvidia-settings -l
I can still notice tearing just a little bit once in a while but it's a huge improvement.
I would rather die of thirst than drink from the cup of mediocrity.

In Ubuntu 10.04 ALL CineDash buttons work out of the box?
Porblem not detecting CineDash hardware if controlls on HOLD is still here?
For the people who installed Ubuntu 10.04 on this laptop. Could you post what hardware works and what not...
